Introduction   banner2.jpg image by broken_shattered_unknown

You stand there alone.  In the dark corridor in your local university.  You'd never been here before - in fact, you never knew this building existed.  You stand there waiting.  You glance at your watch. '' 19:52''.  You look up at the plain wooden door before you, standing there lifeless and cold.  You look around the corridor again, pacing up and down a bit, always ending up by that same door.  You glance down at your watch again.  ''19:55''.  At last you hear some footsteps.  Click, click, click.  They echo down the empty corridor as the source slowly approaches you.

"You're here for the course?" the approaching figure asks.

You nod.

The professor looks you up and down, studying you closely, before nodding himself.  He pulls out a simple, plain key and unlocks the door with a foreboding click.  Your life was never the same again.

It was that one article.  You may have been a psychology student, gazing through the course catalogue to full that last gap in your course.  Maybe you saw it on your local community noticeboard.  Or maybe you saw it in the classified section in the newspaper.  It was simple and to the point, yet it almost drew you completely and unnaturally in.
